Homework Week 9


Make corrections to your Elephant Man paragraphs if needed.
Fix your own mistakes – (spelling, formatting, capitalization, articles)

Make sure you have:
1.      All parts to a paragraph (Topic Sentence, Supporting Details, Subject/Verb, Tense)
2.      Paragraph One: The Elephant Man introduction – Who was Merrick? Where was he from? What did he look like? What was his personality? Did he have friends/a relationship/family?
3.      Paragraph Two: What did you think of Merrick? Give examples from your notes to support your opinion.
(Ex: I thought Merrick was a good person because he was kind even though people were mean to him. For example, on page 14 -------)

·        Send your Elephant Man paragraphs to me using Google drive before 9pm Wednesday
·        You will receive a score and corrections.
Fix your mistakes and post to your blog Sunday before 9pm

Remember: You can post pictures or anything you want about the Elephant Man J

Reminder: The blog post is worth the final 5% of your midterm. DO
NOT post to your blog before you make the corrections from me or YOU WILL lose 5%.

We are coming into Week 7 :)

If you would like to receive extra credit (points added to your final grade)

Each week I will post videos or something to read. After you read or watch what I post, you will be asked to answer questions in paragraph form. You can choose 1 video or both, it is your choice.

I will give .05 extra points for each of your writings.

Example - This Week -


Each video will ask you to write about something different. Click on "read more" to see what I want you to write about. It will be 2 paragraphs (5 sentences or more).

You will need to check your spelling, formatting, and punctuation before posting. Include your student number when you post. 

You will not receive credit if there are too many simple errors. Please practice what you are learning in class, so that your writing is understood.

Homework Week 6:


Movie Character Essay
Before Sending:
·      Check and Fix your own mistakes
·      Check formatting
·      Check and make sure your paragraphs have – topic sentence, supporting details, subject/verb, correct tense
·      Make sure your paragraphs are correct
Ø  Title = Name of Movie and Character (ex: Iron Man – Tony Stark)
Ø  Paragraph 1 – Character Introduction
Ø  Paragraph 2 – Experience that changed your characters life
Ø  Paragraph 3 – What will happen to your character in the future

Note: Make sure you fix simple mistakes – capitalization, formatting, incorrect tense, incorrect spelling –

I will send it back to you before I grade it if I see simple mistakes. You will need to fix the mistakes before it is graded. If you do not, you will receive a 0 (Remember: This is worth 5 homework points)
